Digital Women Awards 2025 Winner: Sym Jaj
Introducing Digital Women Award 2025 Winner
Sym Jaj: Content Marketer of the Year 2025
In 2025, content marketing calls for equal parts creativity, data-driven insight, and constant reinvention. This award honoured the women who turn those demands into standout campaigns – capturing audience attention, sparking conversation, and delivering measurable impact. Meet our winner, Sym Jaj, whose storytelling, strategy, and innovation set the benchmark for content marketing this year.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m Sym, a content enthusiast passionate about meaningful communication, creativity, and impact. As Head of Content, my role spans multi-channel storytelling from blogs and whitepapers to thought leadership and video. I love the challenge of turning complex ideas into something relatable and easy to understand.
What drives me most is providing opportunity, whether it’s to learn, to share ideas, to create, or to give room. And that’s why, through every content piece I create, I aspire to evoke a positive experience or emotion for its audience. This passion led to the creation of the Female Voices and Journey to Success YouTube series. Giving people a platform to shine and a seat at the table is truly my driving force.
What does winning this award mean to you?
Winning Content Marketer of the Year is an honour and such a surprise! I walked away feeling inspired. It’s easy to lose sight of your progress when you’re deep in the day-to-day, but moments like this remind you just how far you’ve come. And I look back at everything that brought me to this moment, including all of the people who’ve been my support system, and I feel so fulfilled.
When I think back to four years ago, I entered the sector with no prior fintech experience, and now I see myself listed among other incredible finalists. This award isn’t just recognition of my work, but a shared celebration of everyone pushing boundaries in digital spaces.
It’s a reminder that we are all enough, that our work matters, our voices matter, and that we are seen.
What career achievement are you most proud of?
Becoming Head of Content was a huge milestone, but what I’m most proud of is using my role to uplift and support others; whether through product knowledge, interviews or educational content. And so, one example is through Female Voices and Journey to Success, where I’ve been privileged to give dozens of people a platform to share their stories, build confidence, and inspire others.
What impact have you seen from your work?
I believe in balancing professional goals with genuine human connection. Recognising people not just for what they do, but for who they are, has created space for real conversation. That’s led to more collaboration, more visibility, and a stronger push against the glass ceiling. Being a small part of that progress is one of my greatest achievements.
Alongside that, I’ve seen that creativity and being bold can transform our industry. I’m proud to have helped bring a fresh angle to a typically rigid space, such as linking complex topics like financial technology to pop culture and real-world stories. By working with such a talented team to bring ideas like this to life, we’ve made our industry’s voice more accessible and engaging.
Watching that shift unfold has been incredibly rewarding.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve had to learn, and how did you grow from it?
My biggest lesson has been that we’re all humans and ever-growing. We make mistakes, we doubt ourselves, and we keep learning, but none of that makes us less capable or deserving of space.
As they say, there’s no time like the present. So, I’ve learned to embrace growth as it comes, whether through challenges, opportunities that arise or the ones I create myself. That mindset has taught me to see progress as a constant journey, not a destination. It’s made me stronger, more confident, more self-aware, and more grounded in who I am.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I can be quite a creature of habit, but at times my adventurous side definitely comes out! I’ve swum with whale sharks in their natural habitat, snorkelled the world’s second-largest coral reef and more. It’s a complete contrast to my usual routine, but I love the perspective those experiences bring, and I’m so grateful to have had them.
What advice would you give to the next wave of Digital Women?
There is and will always be room for you at the table. And if it looks like there isn’t, make space for yourself and for others (because it’s important to pay kindness forward). Mistakes, uncertainty and fear are all part of the journey, but none of them diminish your value.
It’s a fast-paced world, but your mindset will be your greatest tool. It’s okay to feel deflated, sad and unmotivated sometimes; what matters is getting back up, recognising your progress, and continuing to use your voice and skills to make an impact.
The (digital) world needs you.
